Window Zoom, not screen

I'm going mad. I recently switched to Lion from W7. I don't want screen zoom. I just want to zoom in a Safari or a Preview window using kntrl and scroll. When I press kntrl and scroll, it zooms in a part of the screen but the image quality gets worse and worse. Please help! Waiting for you suggestions...

You don't change it by specifying a new shortcut for command-+, you do it by assigning a new shortcut to a specific menu item, by name. So you would need to look up the name of the appropriate menu item in Word, which is likely to be different.

Alternately, there are ways to remap the '+' character to a different key, but I'm not familiar with how that is done.

For months now, I have not been able to operate zoom in with the 'Command +' on the 'Turkish - QWERTY PC' layout. Sometimes i went as far as changing the keyboard to 'French', just to have access to working 'Command +'. The correct key combination to replace 'Command +' is 'Shift Command 0' (which amounts to pressing 'Command =', but does not work if caps lock is on, does a kind of reset to original format of the window ..)
