Go to Apple menu -> About This Mac -> More Info and tell us the x and y of Mac Pro x,y under model identifier. Note if it doesn't say Mac Pro, but says something else, that's critical too. We have to make sure you are properly identifying your machine. And we need to know the make and model of your TV.

Feb 28, 2012 9:27 AM in response to rosieleeby a brody,For your future reference, Mac Pro refers to a desktop model Mac, not a notebook. Your machine thankfully is a mid-2010 MacBook Pro, which supports audio over mini-Displayport. Cables you need are here:
