Hi...
You can use the Finder to burn discs.
Open a Finder window. From the menu bar click File > New Folder
Drag the files you want to burn to that folder.
Give the folder a name.
Select the folder then from the menu bar click File > Burn (name of file) to Disc.

For me, you can't go past Roxio Toast Titanium for it's features. iDVD isn't too bad either, but Toast is a lot more versatile.
Good Luck

Peter...
Just as a heads up, Lion v10.7.x does not support iDVD.
Is iDVD Dead?: Apple Support Communities
And I don't see v10.7 Lion support for Toast here here.

Hi Carolyn, yes I saw that. They don't sell it in the App Store yet the version 7 I carried over from Snow Leopard is still working fine under Leopard, but I realise there will be no more support for it. Bit of a pity, but I am sure that some developer will either release or upgrade a program to fill the void of home DVD autoring somewhere along the line.
Thanks for the reminder, probably not a great choice for the OP.
Pete
Toast Titanium works perfectly on OS 10.7. Just be sure to upgrade it to the 11.0.4 version, that update resolves several compatibility issues related to Lion.
I would suggest using Burn. It is free, open source, and has wide burning options, including the capability of burning disks that work in conventional TV DVD players, much like iDVD did.
Plus: it's free!

Beware that Burn doesn't do disk spanning.

iDVD works just fine with Lion and ML.

Easy, iDVD.
Yes, there are other programs that will put a movie on a DVD. I have tried most of the other substitutes including Toast, Burn, DVD Creator, Wondershare, and others. None of them come anywhere near the ease-of-use and power of iDVD.
IDVD is a wonderful piece of software and well worth the low cost of $40.

I have used the Roxio Toast Titanium program for years and love it. If you are doing any kind of DVD authoring this is the easiest way to go.
