I continue to get a flow of cookies from Apple such as a1165.phobos.apple.com. They all begin with an "a" and have 3 or 4 numbers, then the Phobos.apple.com.
The cookies can get deleted by me and they keep returning, adding more each day with the most being twelve. This seems to have started recently. The only new app I have added has been Crunch?
Any ideas what these cookies from Apple are for? I have the cookie setting to only sites visited.

they're from the iTunes Store. What they are for I have no idea.
These are links to specific pages in the app store.
I am not disagreeing with the answer,s but why are those same cookies not appearing in cookies on my Mac which goes to the App store and iTunes store as much or more than on my iPad?
It seems like they come from the iBooks store.

Did not find my answer (iBooks store) in previous ones.
This is what appears after you get an app for iPhone/iPad or update the app.
Just delete/ignore them, as they are of no use once you have updated.
I have researched this on my husbands phone for 6 months off and on. Recently I started researching it on my phone bc this was not an issue on mine. I figured out a **** site that is the same domain you have listed. along with a lot more depending on how many times you click. I clicked 6 times on this site just to see and i have the one you listed, along with a1152.phobos.apple.com a963.phobos.apple.com a435.phobos.apple.com a651.phobos.apple.com a515.phobos.apple.com. So is this something you guys are doing? Any X-rated websites?

I am searching for the sites who give a.phobos.apple.com cookies on the iphone. You found them. Can you telle me which sites that are?

This phobos.apple.com is showing up 1000's of times and I've only had my phone 3 weeks. I've already gone over 11 GB's of data when before I only used 1.5 GB/month.
Did you ever get a real answer to this cause I have the same question as well, please let me know what sites or where these are coming from

Those are junk which happens whenever a new app is updated.
They happen on Mac, iPhone, and iPad
so when a new app is updated? does it matter what the app is or who it is from? and how can these appear every single day if it is from an app being updated cause I don't think apps are updated daily and where on the phone can you see the history of the apps updated?
