Any body can help me - My new Mac does not recognize the old one while the old one recognizes the new one - what to do?
Any hints such as the models of computers you are running, the operating system versions and versions of iTunes? It's all relative; my "new Mac" is a 10 year old G4 running iTunes 7 and my old Mac is a 13+ year old G3 running OS9 and Soundjam that was to be eventually turned into iTunes.
Both are 1 year old Mac using ITunes 10. I've followed all the steps in the instructions (authorize, turn on etc..)
The problem is that my main Mac that ahs about 7000 songs on it recognizes the new Mac and it appears in the Home Sharing. However, the New Mac, to which I want to transfere some of the Playlist does not recognize the old Mac so I am unable to transfer those Playlists and folders.
Any suggestions???

I've went through all those links and still the problem is the same. It's as if one computer recognized the other but not the other way round. I thought that in Home Share all computers should appear under teh Home Share?
I only want to transfer one folder of songs to teh new compueter not ALL FILES. Is there another way to do it besides HOME SHARE?
Grab the folder of files and drag them to a flash drive to copy them. Stick the drive into the other computer and drag to iTunes to add them.
BTW - you've asked for more details on the computers the old one is Mac OS X Version 10.6.5 and the new one is Mac OS X Version 10.7.2.
Another curious issue is that on my Old one when I look at the Perferences - General - There is no Share Libraries option while in the new one there is and it is Ticked on. On the other hand in Perferences - Sharing in the old one there is the option Look for shared libraries while on teh new one there is no option like it....
Any ideas, suggestions what's going on here????
Thanx for this link. However, I think the problem is as I noted above that in the new computer I don't have the option of Look for shared libraries an don the old one I don't have the Share Libraries option in the General section.
Any other options to change this situation???
Maybe somebody else can help. On my old systems an with no AppleID I can't even try to set up Home Sharing to see what it does in detail and there is only so much I can glean from looking at screenshots posted by others. 🙂
