The other day my iPod got stolen and I don't know what to do. I have a feeling I know who the culprit is.... Is there anyway to find it with my serial number? It got stolen when I was changing for P.E. I'm not sure if Apple will help me find it with my serial number. and I DO not have a app that can find it. I never installed find my iPhone on it.....

Without the find-my-iPod feature already enabled on it (before it was lost) there is really nothing you can do. Apple will not get involved with stolen or lost property. Ask at the school if there is anything they can do to help, but that is about all I can think of.
Ok thank you. I already tried talking to the school and there is nothing they can do about it. They tell me to call the police but I don't think they will help on such a small file. But thank you anyways!
Reporting it to the police really only means if they recover it they can trace it back to you.
Change your iTunes (Apple ID) password along with any other password that was stored in the iPod. If any passwords are associated with credit cards, contact the CC company and get your card replaced (with a new number). If any passwords are associated with your bank or any savings institution, contact them also and discuss approprate action with them.
The "Find my..." function is pretty much useless if the device is in the hands of a thief. All that is necessary is for the thief to connect to any computer with iTunes and "Restore as new."
The only real protection you have is with the personal information on the device rather than the physical device itself. This requires action before the device is lost/stolen. If the device has significant personal informtion, it should have a strong 8-digit (or longer) password AND be configured for automatic wipe in the event of ten consecutive incorrect password entries.
Ya i guess u only would have found it if u had find-my-ipod as an app but i guess not. you can do what philly_phan said or if you had a passcode on it, do you think the thief would have access to everything still?
