Mail folder, dropbox and symlinks - oh my!
Hi - wasn't really sure where to post this so apologies if it's in the wrong category.
Basically, I have 2 iMacs - one in my home office and one in my work office - and I'd like to sync Mail (and all containing folders etc) with my dropbox account so that all emails I send/receive/file will appear on both machines. My work email is a POP account and the setting is to remove emails from server immediately - I can't get around this unfortunately.
Anyhow, all files that need to be synced via dropbox are in a special 'dropbox' folder and I was thinking about creating a symlink of my mail folder to one in my dropbox folder.
So i get it he right way round, can someone explain WHERE i need to create the symlink - would it be in the systems library/mail folder to point to the main folder in the dropbox folder (i'm on my PC at the moment so location may be wrong) OR do i need to create a mail folder in dropbox and symlink back to the library's mail?
Any help / clarification would be greatly appreciated 🙂
