the internal speaker stopped working in my 4th gen ipod touch, what could be wrong with it?

the internal speaker in my 4th gen touch stop working, i can plug the headphones in and it still plays sound through them, when i unplug the headphones it wont play sounds outloud how would i fix it?

iPod touch, Windows 7

Try the sandard fixes to rule out a software problem:

- Reset. Nothing will be lost

Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- Restore from backup[

- Restore to factoy defaults/new iPod


If still a problem you very likelu have a hardware problem. Likely a problem with the headphone jack. An appointment at the Genus Bar of an Apple store would be a good idea.
