"Other" Storage problem

My ipod thinks it has 10G of "other" data storage and now my ipod can't sync my entire library. I tried unchecking and checking the "Open Itunes when this Ipod is connected." My Ipod has 27G of space and 17.5G of audio. No video, books or anything else. Only music and podcasts.
