Feb 29, 2012 7:26 AM in response to nikachiaby rkaufmann87,What iMac? Imacs built between late 2006 & 2009 will use any 3.5" SATA drive. If the Samsung is a 3.5" SATA drive and your machine was built between 2006 & 2009 then it's fine.

Feb 29, 2012 7:51 AM in response to nikachiaby rkaufmann87,Google tells me that is a mid 2007 iMac and Google also tells me the Samsung HD105SI is a 3.5" SATA drive. So yes it will work.
If the drive is not recognized then it was installed incorrectly or a cable is damaged or the drive could be defective too.

Feb 29, 2012 8:10 AM in response to nikachiaby rkaufmann87,Please look over Flashing question mark appears when you start your Mac for troublshooting. I suspect the HD has not been formated. Re-start from your oringinal OS X Install Disc, choose the language, then choose Utilities, then open Disk Utilities, then select the HD on the left pane and choose Partition and follow the directions beginning in Step 2 of:
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1600
Once the drive is correctly partitioned then continue the Install process from your OS X disc.
