Sync iCal to Google Calendar - HTTP error 404

Hi there,

I recently managed get Google Calendar event into iCal, which I am new to. I need to be able to do the opposite, which currently I cannot do.

I have tried the following in iCal 5.0.2 using Lion OS X 10.7.3.

iCal > File > New Calendar > Google > And untitled calender appears un the Google label. Then the following error messages appear...

The server responded with an error.

https://calendar.google.com/calendar/dav/

mattbuchanan85@gmail.com/user/ is not a location

that supports this request.

The server responded with an error.

The URL https://calendar.google.com/calendar/dav/

mattbuchanan85@gmail.com/user/ encountered

HTTP error 404. Make sure the URL is correct.

I really don't know what to do from here on in. All help appreciated. Thanks.

Done that all. I removed calendar caches, keychain items related to Cal, removed and re-added the Google account without success. After a few minutes, same error message pops up.

Anybody else with a solution?

Do the others here also use 3rd party apps or anything else which may have access to a hidden Google authentification process using a wrong password in Cal? I have been using/trying SmartDay, RescueTime and Fantastical.

I am using Google Apps and had the same error after deleting some calendars that had wormed their way into my calendar profile after joining an online shopping site.

Best solution was to close iCal > System Preferences > Mail, Contacts & Calendars > Select the problem e-mail account and then click on the - symbol at the bottom of the window.

I then opened iCal to see if my appointments were deleted, which they were.

Close iCal back into System Preferences & re-create the account.

Because the calendar appointments are stored at Google, all my appointments had returned but without the error.

Negatory. Removing and readding this account is not a solution. Not only does it only work for a short time, but the amount of time the solution lasts is about the same amount of time that it takes for me to reenter my credentials, since I use two-factor authentication.

I have never had such errors with any other calendar app, so I would have to say that it's a Calendar problem and not a Google problem.
