Macbook Air Battery Blow Up

Hi every one,

I have a really big problema with my macbook air. A few months ago, my computer has started going more and more slowly. But for about one month ago, the Macbook Air stopped working and i saw wich began to inflate. After a while, the Macbook Air started to inflate so much and i take the cover back and remove that, and i saw the problem was the battery, wich was very inflated.

I'm from Mexico, and i went to one of the oficial resellers ( we not have a physical apple stores), and they said no had plans to replace this equipment. So, i decided to post my problem to see if anyone what should this issue, because i think that this this behavior is not normal.

If the Apple resellers in your area refuse to deal with you, try contacting Apple customer support and see if they will not help you: http://www.apple.com/contact and also try clicking on Support in the upper right part of the menu bar, and work through the service options for help.

Hi,

I have the same problem before. My MacBook Air also blew up but not that much. I didn't use it for a while and eventually it returned to normal. However I can't use it anymore without plugging it to a power outlet and the battery status indicator says "not charging".

I think what cause the battery to blow up was overcharging.

It is not possible to overcharge the internal MBA battery.
