Plug it in via ethernet.. that is the best.. keep it using ethernet only.

But you can join the the TC to another network.. you will need to use ethernet to get access.. run the utility.. 5.6 not v 6 in Lion which is useless. Hold down the option key and choose to join a network, under the wireless options. This will turn off the ethernet.. so expect to lose connection when you update.
