My g5 starts booting up, gets the spinning wheel then shuts down. The screen goes black. Does anyone know what to do? I reset the PRAM and it did the same thing. Not sure what to do.

It ounds as if you have a thermal problem, probably defective caps r a failing power supply. Open the back and check for bulging or leaking capacitors.
I haven't ever attempted to open the back of the computer. Is this a fairly easy fix?
It's quite easy, just follow these instructions, they're for a 17" but the other sizes are the same.
