iphone contacts not copying to windows address book

Hi,

I'm having problems sync 564 contacts from my iPhone to a Windows Address Book using iTunes. Only 278 coming through, and even those are missing field information. Similar probs missing contacts and field info if trying to sync with Gmail or MS Outlook.

iPhone is a 3GS on latest software, Version 5.0.1

iTunes is 10.5.3.3 running on a Windows 7 32 bit machine

Trying to copy the contacts from my iPhone. Don't care if it overwrites my contacts in my Windows Address Book (WAB) or Gmail account.

I connect my iPhone

Go into Info

Tick Sync Contacts

Select say Windows Contacts (or Google Contacts)

Then Sync the phone.

If prompted I say Merge contacts.

But, I've not been able to get all my contacts off the phone.

Please help!

Seem to have sorted it.

1 deleted all contacts in Windows Address Book (didn't need them and was simply using this to transfer contacts)

2 in iPhone turned off sync of contacts to iCloud

3 in iTunes went to iPhone, Info, turned on sync Contacts to Windows Address Book

4 Sync'd

Done. All contacts and info now in WAB

iCloud must interrupt the flow of contact sync to other destinations.

Yep, you can only chose a single method of iphone contacts.

If you had iCloud turned on, you cannot backup via Windows Contacts (i.e. through iTunes) and vice versa. Indeed, I have found out that if you want to sync iPhone contacts via iTunes and Windows Contacts to your iPhone, the process only imports the *.csv entries from your Windows Address book to your iPhone. This is if you have an empty iPhone address book and already existing entries on your iPhone.

I am was sure if the other way round (from iPhone to PC) was possible since I had never tested it out.
