Camera Connection Kit (CCK) Help

I am in charge of our high school photography club, and one of my students used the CCK with his IPad. As an IMac, IPhone, IPad, ITV devotee, I needed one right away.

No problems connecting the camera to the IPad, photos downloaded perfectly, show up on my Ipad, and here is where my question comes in.

These new photos do not show up in Iphoto, as do all my other photos. Am I correct in the assumption that I need to physically connect my IPad to my computer and then sync the photos for them to show up? If so, I will be so bummed. I thought it would all happen (as if by magic) through the Cloud, as do my other photos.

Any help would be appreciated! Including any 3rd party fixes if they exist.

OK, this response on another thread did the trick: (via King Penguin)

Try closing the Photos app completely via the taskbar and then do a reset to see if it then works ok after the iPad has restarted : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Now VERY SLOWLY the photos are showing up in my photostream. I am relieved!
