Siri ignores phonetic names

I've tried entering them in a number of different contacts and she just ignores the phonetic spelling. I even tried creating a new iCloud contact and entering the phonetic spelling. That worked as long as I didn't add any contact information. The second I added a phone number or email address she went back to miss-pronouncing the name. Delete the phone/email and she was back to pronouncing the name correctly. I thought maybe this was because I was syncing via Exchange, so I turned that off, but it didn't help.
