I'd spent a lot of time looking up WHY my wife and i could no longer iChat.  We'd been hooked up just fine until about a month ago when her ethernet cable under the house went to heck.  I switched her over to wifi and for the internet she's been fine.  The other day we discovered that we couldn't iChat.  It took me the longest time to figure out, her IP address was through the Airport and mine was straight off the DSL modem.  Plugged my ethernet into the back of the Airport and voila!  We're chatting away.  THis situation doesn't seem to be covered in anything I can find, so I figured I'd share.
