iPhoto or equivalent after leopard upgrade

Hi,

We recently upgraded the family machine to a new 27inch iMac..... its gorgeous......

Our ppc G5 was turned on straight out of the box several years ago and has worked faultlessly ever since. As it is now a member of the family we cannot retire it and the kids volunteered to use it in their playroom as long is it can be upgraded to run ipads etc.

So, i have dragged it up to leopard 10.5.8, but am not sure what to do with photo software. The original tiger discs are long gone, and leopard does not come with iPhoto etc. Picassa will not run on pre-intel, so i'm at a bit of a loss.

Is anyone aware of any 'photo library' software (iphoto or picassa style) which runs on ppc leopard, is preferably cheap (or free), as this is primarily for the kids to unload their cameras and mess about.

Many thanks in advance.

Actually, you will need to purchase iLife but not the current version iLife 11 from Apple because that requires an Intel processor. You will need to check to see if you meet iLife 09 system requirements

or iLife 08 system requirements

and then purchase whichever makes sense for you (I'd get the latest version that runs on your iMac G5) from a third party. You can find a number of them online.

I am using iLife 08 on my iMac G5 and it does fine.
