error 502 ical

Hi. I keep getting this error message when I open ical.

"The server responded with an error. The request for account “btinternet.com” failed. The server responded with “502”

to operation CalDAVAccountRefreshQueueableOperation"

This is accompanied with the option of going offline or staying online. If I select the stay online option, the message re-appears.

Enable account is activated in the preferences pane. I have also tried turning the "Automatically retrieve CalDAV invitations from Mail" option on and off in the prefs with no effect

Any ideas?

Many thanks

I have this same exact problem. I've been trying to synch my att.net (AT&T uses Yahoo) with iCal and can't get it to work. I thought by going to preferences and deleting that I could re-add and fix the problem; however, I can't even re-add successfully. I continue to get a 502 error. My OS is Mac 10.7.3.

Do you share a calendar with anyone else? I was having the same problem and found out that my wife's iCloud account was locked out by apple (for some unknown reason). When I tried to log into her account on icloud.com, I was notified that she needed to go to iforgot.apple.com and change her password. Once I did that, I was able to use iCal again without the error.

Having this problem todays syncing directly with iCloud (not Yahoo or anything else). Could it just be that the iCloud server is down?

My wife also syncs to the same calendar - and is also getting error 502. Tech chat with Apple on moving to iCal said it wasn't a problem for two people to log into same iCloud account via same ID.

Wierdly, every time I go from iCal prefs > Edit Account > iCloud (in SysPrefs) > Details I see my wife's name listed there alongside AppleID. I change it, but when I reopen Sysprefs, it's changed itself back.

Anyone got any ideas? Am fully updated on OSX10.7.4

Could you help us understand why this would be an Apple-caused problem if (as in my case) only Yahoo gives:

The request for account “Yahoo!” failed.

The server responded with

“502”

to operation CalDAVAccountRefreshQueueableOperation.

and there is no problem handling calendars on iCloud, Gmail, etc. ?

For what it's worth, I have this problem on and off and only with Yahoo. Never with Gmail or iCloud accounts. I even deleted the Yahoo account and re-added it, but still get:

The request for account “Yahoo!” failed.

The server responded with

“502”

to operation CalDAVAccountRefreshQueueableOperation.
