My PC does not detect my iphone4s

Hi

I'm using an iphone4s it was working fine till past week but when I tried plugging it into my PC today it wouldn't recognize it. it doesn't even make the pop up sound when a device is plugged in but my phone charges itunes doesn't sync nor is the digital camera icon avaiable in 'my computer'. I've tried goin' to sercies.msc and checked my mobile device drivers they're set to auto start and i've restarted it done everything I also tried diskaid latest version. I ran into a forum and it said to look for apple drivers in device manager did that too but with no cure. My iphone drivers don't show in device manager under usb controller nowhere *note i'm running windows xp* I expected everything from my iphone but this. Anyhow is there any possible quick fix? thanks a ton in advance. *Note : my phone charges when plugged into my PC* but doesn't get detected as anything!
