Just bought Iphone 4s from verizon yesterday battery drain

Hello,

Just bought my first iphone 4s yesterday from verizon came with about 90% charge from store used it pretty much about 8 hrs got down to maybe high 30%'s when I went to bed plugged in over night. Got up and unplugged this morning at 640am immediately went from 100%-99% and its now about 10:15am after a few texts, facebook and app store maybe an hour or less of usage rest standby im at 68%??? I've read a bit about battery conditioning but is this normal for the 2nd day of iphone 4s for it to drop that fast?

Thanks for any replies,

Mike

Are you in an area of good cellular signal? Generally the thing that impacts the battery the most is the phone constantly searching for a stronger signal. It is not unusual for the 100-99% drop when unplugging the phone. While the phone is connected it charges. Once it reaches 100%, it stops charging and won't begin again until the phone drops a small percentage. You probably caught it as it was in its non-charging phase.

My iPhone 4S will usually drop about 3% per hour and I find that to be my normal. However, I am not a real power user. It sounds as if something is stuck running. Do you get email on the phone?

as for me, there is 1% drop every 5 mins.... wifi mostly turned off at all times, location services off, 3g, cellular data, push, fetch is also off, and etc.... i tried full charging my iphone last night used it for an hour, so it was at 86% when i fell asleep.... turned on Airplane mode. when i woke up 8am today,,, my battery has dropped from 86% to 35%,, that is 7hours inactivity.......... and big loss of battery charge.

Then you need to do a restore on the phone. Did you set the phone up as a new device when you got it or restore from a backup. It sounds like something is stuck and should correct itself when you restore as a new device. If your battery dropped that far with the device in Airplane mode, there is definately a problem. If the restore as a new device does not work, then you need to see about an appointment with the Genius Bar and have the hardware checked.

so if you already try restoring in a new phone, this sould be an hardware problem, you have your warranty, apple is changing a product when their product having hardware problem, of course for software they fixed it thorugh iOS update, and your a filipino, walang apple store dyan na mag papalit ng 4s mo, san mo ba nabili yan? Globe, smart?

i already had 5 cycles of it since saturday..... full drain (iphone went off itself),, charge it to 100%, leave it about an hour at 100% before unplugging.... 100% stay on for 30 mins ,,,,, then 99%,,, then a drop of 1% every 5-8mins in @sleep / standby... annoyingly true.... when it reaches 10% low battery pop-up.. take note only below 30mins of call each day,, average of 50 sms each day... not so wonderful right?

its seems you have a hardware problem, either on the phone or in the Battery,

mine is iPhone 5 16gb and it las for 2 1/2 days using for facebook, viber, phone calls, reading some news, download apps, and more,

this is a suggestion, never bring it to a technician in Phil. or any mobile shops, coz it will void your warranty, im pretty sure of that..
