How do i play Sims 2 on a macbook pro?

I've brought Sims 2 which is a MAC game, but when I tried to install it on my macbook, it said the application PowerPC was no longer supported. 😟 So, I want to know if there was a way to run the game? e.g. external hard-drive? or by going through windows? Would a mac game work through windows? 😕

If anyone has had this problem and found a solution, i'd be very grateful if they could let me know. Thank you.
