Burning a CD shuffles the list on the disc, but I am not in "shuffle mode", how do I fix this?

I found tha twhen I burn a playlist to a CD, the list gets shuffled on the disc without my choice.

Under the 'controls' list, my 'shuffle' mode is off.

Where do I turn off this option?

What format CD? A standard audio CD, or a mp3 or other data CD? Where are things appearing in the worg order?

Realize also that order depends upon how you have iTunes set to view things. If you have it set to view by artist order that isn't nessarily how they are on the CD, it's how you have told iTunes to display them.

Hi - thanks for responding.

It's for burning basic audio CDs, and I'll use my most recent example...

I just bought an album on ITUNES, and chose to burn it for the car...

The order of songs on the list is exactly as laid out on the CD; I changed nothing.

However, as the disc is burning, it is randomly shuffling the order of the songs onto the burned disc. I burned two discs of the same CD, and the song order on the completed disc was different both times, so it is being randomized onto the burned disc.

I double checked, and the randomizer(shuffle) is off, as the playlist would have been randomized, and it isn't.

got any ideas?

I experienced the same problem last night. Three playlists of carefully arranged songs all got burned in a randomized order. I have changed nothing on iTunes since the last 50 CDs I burned except that I updated the iOS for my iPhone. So it was really baffling and frustrating to have a setting changed somewhere that I wasn't aware of. I hate wasting CDs on miss fire burns because I hate throwing out new stuff that has never been given a proper use.

I'll check this thing with song title order when I get home tonight. I have another very carefully arranged playlist to burn and I do not what to waste a CD by having the playlist randomly shuffled! Note: I really dislike changes that make something I use conveniently suddenly become inconvenient.

Yes, actually there was nothing wrong at all. When the CD track list was displayed it listed the tracks in band name order. The songs are on the CD in the order I arranged them. I don't know why the track list was set to display in band name order because I didn't intentionally make that chance. But in any case, there was no problem after all and many thanks to those that helped by asking and answering.
