Connect an electric violin to Logic Pro 9

Hi, I have an electric violin (Stagg EVN 4/4) which I am trying to connect to Logic Pro 9 via an ART USB PRE Computer interface/ pre amp. I am running OSX lion. If someone could please assist with step by step setup process. If I open up GarageBand the violin is picked up and I can record, but in Logic Pro it does not pick up

Thanks in advance

Hey there!

I'm gunna guess you just made the transition from GarageBand to logic pro.

If this is true, please take time to read up in the manual and search this form and google.

This is linked right above the forum topics. Please take the time to look through it, as Apple already has thousands of pages of "step by step" "how to" for people first starting out with logic and wanting to learn this Professional software.

Logic can listen to any number of audio interfaces so check which one is set in the Logic prefs.

Set IN to your Art usb and

OUT to internal ( which means the ones in your mac) or whatever suits you.

Worth having a look in your Mac sound prefs to see that it now agrees with that.

Then record enable the track and you should be getting a signal.

I hope that is accurate...5 in the morning here and I am on my iPad...%-)
