Problem solved!

I called my local Applecare center who advised me to disable Reminders in my iPhone iCloud settings (selecting option ´keep on my iPhone´)... the Lists then reappeared.

Next step is to turn Reminders back on in iCloud settings (selecting option ´merge with iCloud´).

A few seconds later the Reminders lists also reappeared on my iPad.

Thanks Apple, brilliant (when it works) !

I attempted to follow the fix here. It didn't work, nor did "restore from backup." All my reminders are gone, it won't even recognize that there was data before the date that I did my iTunes and iPod update. I've been both to iCloud and Yahoo sites; all my data has been overwritten/wiped when I updated my software. I won't be working with Apple software for anything important in the future, it seems. This is ridiculous.

Re Lost Reminders on my iPhone when moving to iCloud: Hey this does work - I first lost all reminders - and could not add more - when moving to iCloud. Resolved on the iPhone by: 1. Seettings 2. iCloud 3. Turn Reminders off 4. press keep on my iphone, 5. turn reminders back on and 6. press merge with icloud. Viola. You should see Reminders return. iGodspeed.

Many of my reminders from the last 3 years have been wiped away from my iOS 5.1.1 iPhone 4 Reminders App after migrating my MobileMe data over to iCloud on my 10.6.8 MacBook Pro. Turning Reminders on and off do not seem to resolve the problem. I believe this has happened because the Reminders were being associated with MobileMe calendar as the default. Any other suggestions? As an Apple user for my entire life, a former employee, and generally tech saavy creative, I can honestly say I've never seen as many bugs and disappearances than with MobileMe services. So incredibly frustrating.

I've tried the solution of turning Reminders off and then on again to no avail. Before the release of Mountain Lion, I was on 10.6.8 and Apple said they could see Reminders from up to June 2012 but it hasn't merged/synced over to my Mountain Lion Reminders app or on iPhone. They had escalated the issue bait I've heard zilch in months. Apple's syncing has never been fully reliable in my many years as an Apple user. So frustrating.
