If you need that ability now, consider creating an app instead,I think.

Maybe so in an app, but not in iBooks Author. The user cannot add their own audio to a book.

None that I've seen that will work in an iBA context, sorry. Did you add your request via feedback yet 🙂

Still none that will work, I surmise? i really need one.are they working on this? can you set up a column or text box for somen to at least type a note - visibly letting them know that the notes go inethat spot fo rthem and they shoud do it there to give them direction)

You can always high-light the text that you want to annotate, and click the note button.

If you have siri enabled you can use the speech to text options to speak your notes.

Not a true audio note, but it's something. . .
