i have tried charging, trying to turn on. it is simply blank. i did not drop it, expose it to water, nothing out of the ordinary. does anyone have a clue as to how to handle? i am desperate as it is my only mode of communication....you all know!

nothing happened plugging it in either way. i found that by holding the sleep/wake button along with the home button for about ten seconds forced the reset. no other method worked. thanks all.
