HELP how do i put a background color on my pages page?

I am designing a page in my daughters yearbook using pages. I want to make the background a color but I am having a hard time doing it. HELP

Make a rectangular shape the size of the page and send it to the background as a master object.

Draw a box like PeterBreis0807 stated then select the wrap tab. Deselect Object causes wrap, change the color & size to meet your needs then change object placement from Floating to In background
