So, I just signed up for imessage and all of the sudden, my wife get's all my messages on her phone because we're on the same .me account. This is insane. How do you separate accounts on the phone even though you're under the same .me account. I don't need my wife reading all my texts. Quite outside of privacy, this is just annoying.

Set your iMessage to deliver to your phone number instead of your Apple ID/email account.

I'm not where I can check right now, but I believe it is in Settings>Messages>Receive At>Caller ID and make sure the phone number is selected.
I had the same problem to nolanpaulstanley, and not sure if you have figured it out yet or not. But I did 🙂 thank goodness 🙂 Go to the settings-Messages-Receive At- and then unselect the "use your Apple ID of imessage" then, just the phone number will be avaliable
