Any ''macro" Apps for the iPad?
-----
Does anyone know of any 'Macro' Apps for the iPad. I get tired of typing in the same long words sometimes and could really use a Macro App.

I hadn't thought of that. But I see what you mean. It'd sure be nice if it could just work like computer Macros. I use the Notability App for almost all my writing on the iPad so maybe I can encourage that developer to make me a Macro. Thanks for your help.
Shortcuts works OK for things like my email address, but it will not fill in my Apple ID password, which I get asked for all day long. After a shortcut is created, I cannot find a way to remove it later, short of restoring the iPad to the factory settings.

I'm not looking for something to 'fill in' things like my email addess and passwords (there are other Apps for that). I'm looking for a Macro program for creating shortcuts.
Text Expander at the iPad App Store gets horrible reviews, it doesn't seem to work for anyone.
And 'Shortcuts' in my iPad Settings says I have just one and that's to put a 'period' at the end of a sentence when I hit the spacebar twice. Not impressed. There's no place I can see to add any other shortcuts.
Bummer.
When I said "fill in" I meant exactly what you meant when you said macro. I type 2 characters and the iPad automatically expands them to what I want, in the example, my very long Gmail address.
Meg told you exactly where to create new shortcuts, Settings/General/Keyboard/Shortcuts. It is below the section with the period shortcut.
You are coming across a bit snippy with folks offering free help. My Abuela always said that you get more flies with honey than with vinegar.

What did I do wrong? I saved one entry and it worked so I went back and created another one. When I did that, the first one I put in there didn't work any more.
Boy, you encourage me. I hope you can guess what I'm doing wrong.

Given how iOS sandboxes apps to protect them from each other, a general macro app probably isn't possible. You'd need the app you're using to provide such a feature.
Regards.
TextExpander will work with some applications. Have you also looked at the Shortcut function? Settings>General>Keyboard>Shortcuts.

You are too snippy. (Worse than me?) But thanks for the info. I'll go back to settings and see if I can do this. Thanks.

THANK YOU snippy Dah-veed!!!!! It works beautifully!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Now BiG disappointment! You can only have ONE macro in Apples settings! This is just SAD!

I have 10 at this moment on both my iPad 2 and my iPhone 4S.

Okay....I'm stupid. I didn't see the "Add new shortcut" thing. (Slinking outta here)
