My trash bin has been frozen for the past two days while it's attempting to delete a couple files

Basically what I just said above. I tried force quitting, restarting and neither worked. It's done this before. I've had some problems with my Mac.

To see what's in the trash:

Launch Terminal and copy & paste these commands:

cd ~/.Trash

Press Return

Then enter lsPress return

This will list of the contents of your trash, so you can if there's anything you need you can drag it out. If not, follow these instructions:

Go to /Applications /Utilities/Terminal and launch it.

At the prompt, copy and paste this command

sudo rm -rf ~/.Trash

Press Return.

You will be asked to enter your admin password. It will be invisible.

Enter it and press Return.

Log out and back in or restart.

Let us know.

Nevermind found launch terminal. I used all the commands you listed and nothing worked.

Theres two windows open that won't close, one for the trash bin, and one for copying. It says the items in the trash been have stopped being emptied, even though the bar is still twisting and it won't go away. It says the items in the trash are copying onto my desktop, but that is also stopped. Theres nothing important in the trash or that takes a lot of space up.

I did this and my mac wouldn't shut down because the windows were still open. So I had to press the off button down to shut down. I did the shift key, it started back up, and the trash bin is no longer trying to empty.

BUT

I now have other problems. My camera cannot be detected and I have no sound. When I go to turn the sound up or down it has a small "O" with a line slashed diagnally across it. I already tried to plug my headphones in and out of the headphone jack. Still no luck. I also checked the sound in system preferences and I will not allow me to click unmute.

My mac was bought in the beginning of September and I don't know why it's having so many problems.
