This is very frustrating. I don't have an email on the iPad. I go through safari. I lend my iPad to people often and don't wan them to see my email. There seems to be no way to find URL of YouTube videos or to attach photos to an email.

Well it seems that the way to do it without adding my email account is to restrict the YouTube app and go through safari. I added my gmail account but how do I keep someone who is borrowing iPad to play a game, from viewing my Email?
You cannot attach photos when using web mail via the Safari browser on the iPad. It doesn't work that way.
I believe that you will have to go to YouTube.com in Safari if you want to copy the url's becuase they do not appear in the YouTube app from what I can see.
You can trick it.
From within the YouTube app, click on the share icon. Select share by e mail. ( even though you are not going to send it). A draft e mail pops up with the URL in it. Copy the URL, cancel the e mail, and past the link into whatever you really want to send.
Can you do that without having an email account on the iPad? Does the mail app launch if you do not have an email account on the device? The OP does not have an email account on the iPad so I was sure that would work.
I don't know what happens if you have not enabled an e mail account. But he could certainly fire up an account for this purpose, and simply not use it. Shoot, I was proud to find a way to get the URL.
I'm not trying to be a "bummer". 😉 Your idea is great and hopefully it will work for the OP. I just don't know if the mail app will launch without a working email account on the device.

I understand why he doesnt want his mail there for others, if he is passing his pad around, but I think this is the first op I've seen that has never even set up an account. I am not sure how to test this without deleting my accounts, and I don't want to go there.

Another thing. His question about pictures. You can copy and paste photos into the mail app just fine. but they will not paste into the webbased mail. At least on gmail, where I tested. I always thought that would just work, but it doesn't.

You can't. That is the problem with the mail app on the iPad.
Were you able to see the url in the YouTube app by tapping on the Share icon - without adding the email account to the iPad?
No. Had to add account. When you hit share it just goes straight to the add account page. Apple assumes you are going to be sharing iPad because you have to re enter pass code to add or delete apps. Wonder why you can't put pass code on email. Thank you for the help.
Many people feel the same way about the mail app. You can let Apple know how you feel as well if you want to do so. Use this link.
DMc. Just get a throwaway sencond address from gmail. And never use it. Then it won't matter if others look at the empty page. It would also be interesting to see what junk mail finds its way to an address that is never used, courtesy of google. Then the ability to copy paste the URL is there, and your email remains private.
