Bluetooth on i phone does not pair - searh goes on and on

What are you trying to pair with? Did you put the other device into pairing mode?

Iphone supports bluetooth for stereo headsets/speakers, handsfree telephone devices/headsets, some peer-to-peer apps from the app store, sone keyboards, and tethering where provided by the carrier.
Other than this it will not connect to any computer/device/phone.
As roaminggnome said, there are only a few things the iPhone will pair with in Bluetooth. Check the Apple support document to see what Bluetooth profiles the iPhone will work with http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3647
