No sounds in bootcamp windows 8

ok I just got windows 8 consumer preview edition and I have no sound, curious if it's because I am running it through bootcamp. My roommate also has windows 8 on his pc and the sound works fine. my speakers and headphones work fine on lion, nothing on windows 8, it has located the speakers and says they work though...any thoughts?

Apple just supply's drivers for THEIR hardware for compatibility. W7 at this point only.

Apple won't supply any W8 Boot Camp drivers until after W8 final comes out.

Microsoft has to put generic minimum drivers in for hundreds of different machines to start up in so that is why you can boot from the Windows disk but when you try to USE the OS for everyday use you get the problems.

Apples hardware is made for the Macintosh operating system and Apple writes Windows drivers so Windows can use the Apple hardware.

Windows Pre-release's aren't really made for the Mac general public. If you know your hardware and know which manufacturers make the drivers you can always download them directly and do it that way.

Hi.

Download the and install the latest Bootcamp driver from here: http://support.apple.com/kb/dl1638 (check compatibility) in Windows 8.

//by now your sound, trackpad/magic mouse and keyboard shortcut functions should work.

i ran into one problem. when i pluged in a headset or speakers, the sound disappeared completely.

this can be solved in most cases, simply by re-open the setup.exe that you used to install bootcamp with, and when asked, click: Repair.

Hopefully, this has solved the speaker/headset sound problem in Windows 8.

If you think Windows 8 screen is too dark, you can disable "Automatically brightness adjustment" from "Power and battery settings" in Windows 8.

Im not sure if Automatically brightness adjustment, and Power and battery settings are their correct name, because i am using the Danish version of Windows 8.
