dock gone bad

Is there any way to reset the dock to the factory config ?¿

iBook G4, Mac OS X (10.4.5)

Navigate to ~(yourhome)/library/preferences and delete the file "com.apple.dock.plist".

This didn't work for me. I still get a crash log.

Exception: EXC BADACCESS (0x0001)
Codes: KERN PROTECTIONFAILURE (0x0002) at 0x00000000

That mean anything to anyone?
