Why does my song's ratings keep on changing

If your iPod is set up to automatically sync with your library, it will automatically copy over any ratings you have made on your iPod back into iTunes overwriting any previous ratings you had for a track. Are you sure you aren't accidentally rating a song while listening to it?

so i've restored my ipod nano, check the manually manage box and then synced all the songs bakc into place
