Step 11 is not possible. There is no way to allow import of vcal files. Any help would be appreacited.

Hi,
The File > Import... > Import... option should import vCal files if they are valid.
Best wishes

Thanks for the reply, but that option doesn't work. I can't import a vcal file or choose to allow that type of file. I've used Palm Desktop for years but with my new Mac the software is no longer supported and I am totally stuck trying to transfer all my data. I don't want to purchase The Missing Sync just to tranfer the data into iCal 5. I may have to go to an older mac and convert the files there then move them to this computer and reconvert.
What file extension do the Palm Desktop export files have? It should be .vcs.
I tested earlier before posting above and iCal 5.0.2 opens properly formatted .vcs files here.

Oh frack. That was the issue, you are a life saver. The file didn't have an extension for some reason. I renamed it with .vcs and presto! it worked. Thanks John.
I'm glad you have it working now.
