Extending WIFI range to difficult spots

I have a few difficult spots in my house because of very thick walls. I use the Airport base stattion with Time Capsule and have extended the range using a couple of Airport Express devices, but it has not worked. Do you have any suggestions?

If a number of placement combinations does not work, the suggestion would be to use wired connection between routers to extend the wireless range. If running Ethernet is not practical or desireable, you may want to consider employing Powerline adapters instead. These adapters take advantage of your home's electrical circuit to create a pseudo Ethernet one. With the routers interconnected by Ethernet, you can then configure them into a roaming network.
