And yes, I HAVE uninstalled/reinstalled and tried to do a repair MULTIPLE times. I have a feeling the problem is either disck drive or video card problems. But am not tech Savvy enough to know how to fix. The problem origionated after I had a problem with my other computer and we had all our data transfered from that hard drive to a new computer (this one) and since then I have not been able to burn CDs. I have been able to take music (import) from cds and put them in itunes. So it's just the burning I have a problem with. Any help would be MUST appreciated. Thanks!

It's not showing any sign of an optical drive on the PC at all ... doublechecking: can you see your optical drives in Computer on the PC?

    That's one I haven't seen for a while.

Try the fixit from the following Microsoft document:

Your CD drive or DVD drive is missing or is not recognized by Windows or other programs

After the Fixit is applied, restart the PC. Then go into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "iTunes" and click "Repair".

Try launching iTunes. Does it launch properly? If so, check to see if you can burn.

I used the fixit. It fixed a few things then said something was wrong with my drive. So i went through did it again and told it to use the best drive. then it said there weren't anymore problems writing a disc. But the problem is still there. It won't let me burn any disks. And thanks for your time and help so far!

Could you post a fresh set of diagnostics, please? (Fingers crossed, things may be a little clearer now.)

You could swap drives with your old computer to your new one.

Hnia- Well, We don't have much from the other computer. It was... very broken. It was just lucky that the harddrive was still good.

Try the following document, with one modification. At step 12 after typing GEARAspiWDM press the Enter/Return key once prior to clicking OK. (Pressing Return adds a carriage return in the field and is important.)

Okay, I did what you said. Restarted, did a repair for itunes, then restarted the comp again. After bringing itunes back up, it still says no software found. I ran a diagnostic and got this:

When the filters are there, we get a Disk Burner not found. When the filters are gone, we get the 43.

That's behaving like an afs.sys or afs2k.sys problem. But with those, normally, the diagnostics say that the driver is installed on the system and the error code in Device manager is usually a 10 rather than a 39.

We'd better check, just in case,

Try Solution 2 from the following document:

iTunes for Windows: Optical drive is no longer recognized, or "Disc burner or software not found" alert after install

Okay, I dont have either file listed, but I do have asferror.dll.mui and asferror.dll in there. Not sure what to do with either, if anything?
