Just double click them where ever they are (generally /Applications).

    (1) Mac Pro is a desktop computer. Your profile says you're using a MacBook Pro, which is a laptop computer. For this topic, it doesn't much matter which one it is, but it's a good idea to keep things straight.

    (2) As the links provided by X423424X tell you, you have several methods of launching applications -- from the Dock, or directly by double-clicking on them, and so on. However, you may find Spotlight an even faster way. Command-spacebar is the default shortcut to activate Spotlight's search field (upper right corner of the display). Start typing the name of the application -- enough characters to allow Spotlight to identify it -- and then a simple Return will launch it. For instance, to launch Disk Utility, it's enough to type "disk u" and Spotlight will find it.

If you have nimble fingers, you may find this saves a little time.
