@MacMusician: You can contact us via email, twitter, facebook or Live Chat. Our support website where you can submit a ticket is at: http://www.ragesw.com/support/

Most web hosting services are going to be very similar for you and all other iWeb users. Who ever you choose to go with make sure that they know iWeb. Email them and ask them how many iWeb customers they host and ask them some iWeb related questions.

I can only speak for our Web Hosting services, but we know iWeb very well as you can see from our free video tutorials.

If you have any specific questions, feel free to email us or reply here. I am happy to answer any of your web hosting questions.

I am having a problem I need some help on. Just today tried to switch my iWeb host from MobileMe to GoDaddy.

I already have my domain name from GoDaddy and want to use their free Hosting that goes with the domain.

I called & they helprd me set it up. I have the Apple published instructions on moving from MobileMe & I setup my iWeb Site Publishing setting according to that, & went to MobileMe & removed that as a domain.

While waiting for the change to become effective, I found I could get to my site by going to http://sitename.com/www.sitename.com, but not directly by using http://www.sitename.com. GoDaddy told me I am going to a folder that has the www.sitename.com in it. They said this was an iWeb problem.

Any ideas on this?

It has nothing to do with iWeb at all - iWeb is just the app that you use to create your website, nothing more and nothing less.

Domain name forwarding is dealt with at the place that you registered your domain name - you need to log in here and check that you have forwarded correctly. It sounds like you have not done this properly.

Hi floatpod, How do you communicate with those people? I am having big big problems with them.

After signing up with a host who had problems publishing my site I searched the net and came across "RAGE" which, according to their site specialises in iWeb customers. I registered with them on July 06. 2012 and up until today (July 23. 2012) my site is still not running as it should.

Customer service is absolutely TERRIBLE. There is no chat and everything is done by e-mail. They seem to only work 9-5 Mo-Fri. although they did tell me they work weekends "Sorry for the delay. It was the weekend and I was unable to access my support clients (you are assigned to me)." "We do work weekends here, but hours are not as long as during the week so during swamped weeks, things can get backed up a bit."

I have sent them 10 e-mails since I registered with the same problem.

replies have taken:-

1 mail - 6 hours

2 mail - 64 hours

3 mail - 1:30

4 mail - 10 hours

5 mail - 6 hours

6 mail - 2 mins

7 mail - 8 hours

8 mail 12 hours

9 mail - I sent on 21.07.2012 at 08:34 and have still not received a reply (48 hours and counting)

The answers to my mails were never sufficient to solve the problem and 2 questions I posed have still not been answered

I have offered to do a night shift so as to get the problem solved by chat either on Skype or another method but have had no response.

The main reason I stay with and recommend the hosting services I use is due to their tech support.

In my experience, publishing problems never happen between 9 and 5 during the working week!

Web hosting is an international business and everybody in it should be available 24/7 for phone, email and chat support.

Rage are primarily a software development company and produce good applications. I can't imagine why they would want to go into the hosting business.

In theory, publishing via the iWeb FTP is as easy as it can get. In practice, many of hosting services leave a lot to be desired and users don't seem to understand the importance of correctly formed file names and the path to the root folder.
