Whatever you choose, make sure you get a Linux account and that they have 24/7 tech support.

Like a lot of hosting services, the first one on this page gives you a trial period and a 30 day money back guarantee. The other one is free for you to try for as long as you like and then you can upgrade to paid anytime...

iXWebHosting is actually a better bet for those who want to have the option of two IP addresses with the basic hosting plan. Its a good choice for those who only have one site but want two versions of it - one conventional and the other mobile.

I tried it our for a photography studio who built their main site with iWeb and published to MobileMe. The iX rep transferred their files from MobileMe and redirected the domain name for them. That's good customer service!

After creating the mobile version of their site, I had the choice of adding it with a separate IP address or to use a mobile.domain-name.com sub domain.

I know I keep harping on about the need for mobile website designs but this is a case in point since the studio reported a large increase in customer enquiries almost immediately after the mobile version was published.

You may want to learn what a sub-domain is :

And looking at the Flux code, have you considered using a code optimization appplication? Compared with that, iWeb creates clean code.

And here's a little learning :

I know what a subdomain is. I didn't label that graphic properly as it was created before I delved into subdomains. Thanks for the heads up. I'll change it to read something like "simulated subdomain" or the like.

However, at HE I can create a subdomain named demo1.oldtoad.net. Can't have caps in the sub domain name. Whereas using just the straight domain name/folder method I can have oldtoad.net/Demo_1 with caps. I prefer the folder method so far.

The only difference to using the subdomain method except that it places the subdomain name first which doesn't matter for me. The folder method is easier to setup as all you need to do is publish the site folder to the base domain name root folder. Nothing to setup at the server.

I use Web Site Maestro to optimize my websites and upload them to the server. Although complex Flux creates much fewer files for a web page than iWeb.
