My .aplibrary will not open in Aperture!

Hello

I launched Aperture today to load some photos, and my libraries and projects are all gone! Nothing in the left panel except the blue automated filter thingies.

I had to download Lightroom to empty my camera.

My .aplibrary is still in my ~/pictures folder. If I try to import or open it in Aperture, nothing happens.

What can I do?

Nope.

I cannot get Aperture to recognize the .aplibrary
file (or its backup), so it cannot be rebuilt on
launch. It's like Aperture is forcing me to start
from scratch. It will not recognize the .aplibrary
when I try to redirect the prefs to it.

Ok, try this - go to your .aplibrary in Finder, right click and select "Show Package Contents".

Copy all of the .aproject files in there into a new directory. Now restart Aperture, point it to to a new place to hold the library. Close down Aperture.

Go to that new .aplibrary file, right click and "Show Package Contents" again. Copy all of the .approject files into that window that pops up. Restart Aperture, and it should rebuild that new library from the projects you had.

And there is no "open" command, and re-importing the photos will force me to re-classify them into new albums - something that took me about 12 hours of work the first time around. If I'm gonna have to do that, I'll do it in lightroom.
