You can only read them on iOS devices (iPhone, iPad, iPod touch).

I own a macbook pro and an iPhone 4s and I am a very big Apple fan and endorser... but DUDE, Apple is seriously dropping the ball on this one. Do they want people to run as fast as possible to other e-book providers? I'm scratching my head on this one. It seems only logical to make this happen - everyone else is. If anyone at Apple is listening: This is SO lame.

It seems Apple is not that hot firm we are lead to believe. To sell books that can be only read in one device? This is absolutely incredible.

No wonder the growth of Android devices. Whem Windows 8 comes to the market watch out Apple.

In the begining of PC you had the market with the Apple II and then you lost it. Do you want to do the same with iOS?

This still did not work for me. I have a 17" Macbook Pro. I purchased an e-cookbook and the only reason I purchased it through iTunes vice Amazon was so I could seet it on my MAC as I cook, because it has the larger screen.

Now I've learned "the only application that you can view content purchased from Apple is iBooks, which right now is only available on iOS devices (iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad). The DRM that Apple locks the content with prevents it from being viewed on any other ePub viewer such as Adobe Digital Editions (ADE)." I do not have an iPad or iPod but even if I did I would not be able to see the cooking instructions, so that is not an option.

I did as said in the discussion, dragging my e-book from iTunes to my desktop then double click to open with ADE. All I get is white pages. I'm puzzled why iTunes would even sell a cookbook that requires a large screen, when they know it can't be viewed on a large screen.

So how do I get my money back from iTunes so I can purchase it from Amazon and read it on my PC (15" screen) with a Kindle App?

Apple and the iCould is the king of "access all your content from any device". So in an app called iTunes where I can listen to music and watch movies/shows I purchased from the store and where I puchase books and other items like books, I cannot read a book?

Both the fact I cannot do this and the fact Apple expects I should read anything that says "you can't do that on your premium priced laptop" is 100% completely utterly rediculous.

What a sad day to see Apple slitting it's own writs and letting this market opportunity slip away. Yea, I think I'll just go purchase this on Kindle, you know, the market leader in books who's your competitor. Thanks...
