how to find hidden accounts

Hi,

i am have a problem my computer is running 10.6.8 and my account is no longer on the system.

it was a moblie account from my server also running 10.6 i have tested on other computers and they load my account from the server fine.

but on this computer it doesn't show it at all, in the system preferences or in finder.

but if i go to get info and try to add a account to a folder etc i can see my account...

I am trying to find out where the account is to get rid of it and so then i can log in from this computer with the server account and make a new moblie account.

if i can't do that then i would at lest be able to make a account on the local computer, but at this point it won't let me with the same name as a account. So it still thinks there is one on the computer but there is no folder(s) for the account that i can find.

any help would be great! i am log in on the computer as anther admin that i made before.

Try pasting this into Terminal:

sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.loginwindow HiddenUsersList FALSE

Press 'return' and enter your admin password. You won't see anything when you type, so type carefully.

Press 'Return' again.

If you get immediately returned to the terminal prompt without an error message, you should now be able to see all users in the Users & Groups preferences list.

(*Note: that's all one line. Don't try to type it as the spacing is critical and its not very clearly displayed in the post. Just copy and paste it without any extra space in the selection at the beginning or end.)
