iMac not giving me option to connect WiFi

At first when I got the iMac, Airport would show up on the top left, but after trial and error (wouldn't let me connect to WiFi) I reinstalled Lion. Now it won't show up, only in Recovery HD. I've tried the whole bluetooth process as well as the Command PR thing and no luck. I go to System Preferences > Network and the only options it gives me is Ethernet, Bluetooth, and Firewire. I as well tried connecting it with my Ethernet Cable and still doesn't allow internet access. I've reinstalled Lion 3 times. Right now I am on 10.7 but will try any troubleshooting you guys help me with, the reason I haven't upgraded to 10.7.3 is because I've done so the last 2 times and no luck as well, and this way if you guys have any ideas I can just update it to the one you guys advise me. Thanks everyone who participates in this! I really need this iMac working for school purposes. It ***** that my first Apple experience is being in this situation ):
