I have a new MacPro running 10.7.3.
I have an old Mac desktop running Tiger (10.4)
I can't seem to screen share.
I want to remotely control the old Tiger machine from my Lion one.
I checked 'Remote Desktop' on the Tiger- but still no happiness.
I CAN mount the drives from that older computer just fine.

I am nearly certain you cannot control a Tiger machine using Lion's "screen sharing" feature.
Apple Remote Desktop can do it though. It's not cheap.

I tried getting Chicken of the VNC like someone said would work- but not working.
Dang, it would be nice to have it as a secondary machine.

Mark, sorry for any misunderstanding, CoVNC is only needed if you want to control the newer one with the old one.
On the old one enable...
Personal File Sharing
Remote Login
Apple Remote Desktop
Remote Apple Events
On the ARD choice click Access Privileges and fill in what & who can do what.
Easiest to sign into the old one with the old one's username & old one's PW if you checked that as OK on the old one.

You lost me. Can you use Lion's screen sharing to control a Tiger machine without ARD? I tried once but didn't give it much effort.
Yes, but ARD Server has been built in for a long time, it's just that in 10.4 & below you need someting like CoVNC to control the other one, though having real problems trying to control the 10.7.3 iMac from the 10.4.11 eMac using CoNV, works withn 10.5.8/10.6.8 on the iMac though.
I found out that I didn't have the VNC port open.
So I added it to my firewall- works great now!
