Yup, checked with my carier my bill is fully paid.
I also reset network settings which has not helped.
I have tried rebooting my phone and ths has not helped eaither.
It was working fine one minute and then died on me.
My wifi and apps are still working.

Does the phone indicate you have a signal? It could be a failed SIM. You can try and restore the phone, then restore as a new device if that doesn't fix it.
If that doesn't clear it up, I'd say go to your carrier and get a new SIM. Are you using a supported carrier from this list? http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1937

The sim and signal appear to be fine and I even removed the sim and re-inserted it. Not sure if I have to do a factory reset? And how would I do that?
