In new Xcode 4 and Lion You can install and uninstall from Preferences : downloads : components

If You want to uninstall completely XCode go to launchpad and push Xcode icon for two seconds, so click on the upper left checkbox.

Hi,

You used the command 'sudo: /Developer/Library/uninstall-devtools' but it is actually located in /Library/Developer/uninstall-devtools.

If you remove Xcode from the Launchpad all you do is to remove an icon. This is why AppStore does not let you re-install Xcode because it is still there.

Use /Lbrary/Developer/3.0/uninstall-devtools instead.

It's better to sudo sh and find the uninstall-devtools by yourself.
